Host Institution: Universidad de Salamanca

ASA offers the following programs in Salamanca:
1) Trimester program open to all levels
2) Summer program open to all levels

Eligibility: Must be at least 17 years of age. Open to students with any level of Spanish. Must have graduated from high school. Students who have already graduated are eligible for this program. Unofficial transcript is ok. Requires 4 passport photos. Minimum GPA requirement is 2.5. (Applications from high school graduates who have not yet attended college are considered on a case-by-case basis, and all applicants must submit 2 letters of recommendation, official transcript, and a letter of intent along with the rest of their application materials. A GPA higher than the minimum requirement is expected of pre-college applicants.)

Credits:
1) Trimester students can earn 13-16 semester credits per trimester
2) Summer students can earn 5-6 semester credits per summer session

Final transcript is issued by the Universidad de Salamanca.

Language: All courses are taught in Spanish but for any language level.

Academic Focus:
1) Trimester: Spanish language, history, literature and culture
2) Summer: Spanish language, history, literature and culture

Curriculum:
All students take a placement exam on the first day of class, which will determine their level. Beginner level students take a set curriculum of intensive Spanish language courses. Intermediate, Advanced and Superior levels must take Spanish language, plus 2-3 elective courses of their choosing.

Housing: All students live with Spanish host families. 3 meals per day and laundry once per week are included.

What's Included: Academic credits, tuition, official transcript, on-site director, cell phone, room and board, airport pick-up and drop-off, medical insurance, ISIC card, day and overnight excursions, pre-departure orientation, on-site orientation, and more.

Sample Day Excursions: Toledo, Segovia, El Escorial,Avila, La Alberca y Las Batuecas

Sample Overnight Excursions: Madrid, Sevilla, Barcelona, San Sebastián
