Host Institutions: ASA offers the following programs in Sevilla:
1) Universidad Pablo de Olavide: Semester/Academic Year - open to all levels
2) Universidad de Sevilla: Semester/Academic Year - open to Intermediate and Advanced levels only
Eligibility: The eligiblity requirements vary, based on which of the 2 universities you plan to attend. Please see our Eligibility page for full details.
Credits:
1) Universidad Pablo de Olavide: Students can earn 12-18 semester credits during one semester. Credits and final transcript are issued by Universidad Pablo de Olavide
2) Universidad de Sevilla: Students can earn 12-15 semester credits per semester. Credits and final transcript are issued by the Universidad de Sevilla
Language: Students with any level can attend Universidad Pablo de Olavide, while the Universidad de Sevilla is open to Intermediate and Advanced only.
All classes at the Universidad de Sevilla are taught in Spanish. Universidad Pablo de Olavide offers classes in English and Spanish.
Academic Focus:
1) Universidad Pablo de Olavide: Hispanic Studies program open to students with a Beginning, Intermediate, or Advanced level of Spanish.
2) Universidad de Sevilla: Liberal Arts/Hispanic Studies program open to Intermediate and Advanced only.
Curriculum:
1) Universidad Pablo de Olavide: All students take a mandatory Spanish language class and then choose either 3 or 4 electives taught in English or Spanish.
2) The Universidad de Sevilla is for Intermediate or Advanced students only, and all classes are taught in Spanish. Students choose 4-5 classes per semester, from a wide variety of liberal arts and humanities courses, including art history, linguistics, literature, politics, geography, anthropology, history, and much more.
Housing: All students live with Spanish host families. 3 meals per day and and laundry once a week are included.
What's Included: Academic credits, tuition, official transcript, on-site director, cell phone, room and board, airport pick-up and drop-off, medical insurance, ISIC card, day and overnight excursions, pre-departure orientation, on-site orientation, and more.
