Any program can get you to a country and register you at the university. It takes a certain kind of program, however, to provide you with all the tools necessary to ensure that your experience is both memorable and fulfilling. That's why ASA provides our Dublin students with:
Housing on campus at Griffith College in the newly built Halls of Residence
A pre-departure orientation guide that will prepare you for studying abroad in Ireland
Excursions to other cities within Ireland
Classes taught by real professors with advanced degrees
Personal attention to any academic goals you may have
Health insurance
A cell phone with free incoming calls when you're in Ireland
And much, much more!
Being Prepared
We understand that being prepared is important to a successful experience. That's why our team has labored over the years to refine our programs. We help you prepare with:
- a detailed orientation guide mailed to you prior to departure
- a detailed orientation program when you arrive in your host country
- an experienced staff willing to answer all of your questions
Seeing The Country
Our excursions are designed to help you see some of the major historical and cultural sites in Ireland.
At many of the sites you will have a guided tour, yet will also be left with plenty of time to explore on your own.
All of the excursions are included in the cost of the program. While we encourage our students to participate in all of the excursions, it is never a requirement.
Classes and Housing
Our students reside and take classes at Griffith College Dublin, with Irish students and international students from all over the world.
This means that you will not only get to see Irish life firsthand, but will get to meet and hang out with other students from all walks of life.
The classes are small and are taught by full professors, not teaching assistants. Our students can take classes in a variety of subjects and receive credits at their home university for the classes taken in Dublin.
ASA Dublin students live in the newly constructed Griffith Halls of Residence that contain 183 shared apartments with unlimited free Internet access, dedicated study areas and 24-hour security.
The Halls attract students from all over the world and from Ireland, making for a truly international living space that students rave about.
The 2-bedroom apartments are comfortable and fully furnished.
Each bedroom is equipped with 2 single beds, 2 bedside lockers, 2 wardrobes, 2 desks, and 2 chairs.
The bedrooms are also fully carpeted, and each apartment has 2 bathrooms as well.
Your kitchen will be fully stocked with pots and pans, dishes, utensils, cutlery, glassware, and cleaning supplies (i.e. broom, vacuum cleaner, iron, etc.).
The living area even has a couch, coffee table, and TV.
As specified by Irish law, each apartment is responsible for purchasing a TV license (approx. 150 euro split amongst the suitemates).
Each apartment has a floor area of about 60 square meters, is tastefully decorated, and has controllable heating.
The ASA Staff
The ASA team is a group of people who are well-traveled, experienced in foreign education, always there to assist you and best of all, they are people who have studied abroad themselves. We know what it's like to move into a new city, in a new country, with a new language and it's this first-hand experience that makes us true professionals when it comes to studying abroad.
We want to see all of our students leave our program feeling that they have had the best experience of their lives. For some of our students, this will be their first time outside of the United States and their first exposure to a new culture. We recognize that this is not always an easy adjustment, so our orientations are designed to help take away some of the surprise and guesswork that often leads to anxiety. No question or request is too small, so please, call us toll-free at (888) 845-4ASA with any question that you may have. We look forward to speaking with you soon!
